Trojans make it seven straight with 10-6 win over Walton
WALTON – The Trojans improved to 8-3 on the season with their 10-6 win over Walton on Thursday. Greene’s tallied six of their 10 runs in the top of the third inning, steal the lead from the home Warriors and holding on for the remainder of the game.
The Trojans’ Nick Shoemaker went 2-for-3 at the plate, one his hits led to a RBI triple that scored teammate Owen Howell from second. Shoemaker ended the day with two RBIs to add to his stat line.
As Greene racked up 10 hits, Kolby Finch and Hogan Ludolph joined their teammate with a multiple hit, multiple RBI game. Each hitter had two hits and two runners batted in for the Trojans in the win.
Logan Kennedy started on the hill for Greene and threw five and one-third innings, allowing just one hit while striking out six. Grayson Flanagan came on for the remainder of the contest and surrendered three hits and three runs but struck out four Walton batters in the process.
Kyle Wright got the start on the mound for Walton and teammate Brendon Barlow came on in relief in the fourth inning. Both pitchers allowed five hits and combined for a total of 11 strikeouts.
